A Spanish licence goes further than the single theoretical figure most reviews stop at.
The operator must give you, in Spanish, the expected return calculated over one year and the real percentage of prize return over amounts staked, game by game, for each of the six preceding months. Jackpot wins sit outside that percentage.
The game asks for a time and spend ceiling before the first spin. Those fields cannot be pre-filled, cannot carry over from last time, and cannot be changed once you are playing.
Elapsed time and amount spent, on an interval you choose, with a floor of 15 minutes. Open a new session within 60 minutes of the last and a notice has to appear before the reels do.
Every licensee caps deposits at 600 € a day, 1.500 € a week, 3.000 € a month. Lowering one is immediate; raising it takes a DGOJ safer-gambling test, a clean three months behind you, three days to apply, then holds for another three.

Two things people believe about Spanish rules that are not true. There is no statutory minimum RTP in Spain — a full keyword scan of Orden HAP/1370/2014 returns no floor. And the welcome-bonus “30-day rule” was annulled: the Supreme Court struck down the restrictions on new-customer promotions in April 2024, and a re-ban is tabled but not law. The 30-day rule that survives, art. 13.7, is a different one — no personalised promotions for 30 days after your deposit limits go up.
Spanish law is specific on the point that matters here: a bonus or loyalty promotion may not alter a game's RTP (RD 958/2020 art. 13.6.a). And the picture most Spanish pages still get wrong: the restrictions on new-customer promotions were annulled by the Tribunal Supremo in April 2024, so welcome bonuses are legal again. A re-ban is proposed, not law.

The RTP-version concern is real and documented — in English. A thread titled Play'n GO controversial RTP settings names Book of Dead at 96.21% against 94.25%.
A second thread, opened 14 February 2020 and running to 391 posts, tracks one operator group's wrong-RTP episode across its Coral and Gala brands.

My bonus terms say max €2 per spin. Is there a Spanish law that caps the stake as well?
No — Spain sets no statutory stake cap on an online slot; the minimum and maximum per spin come from the operator's own game rules (Orden HAP/1370/2014 art. 12.1). So your €2 is a contract term at that operator, not law — and breaching it can still void a bonus balance even when the software lets the bet through.
