Tarzan Slot Review: RTP, Free Spins and Where to Play in the US

Search Tarzan slot from the US and five different games come back under one name. Aristocrat’s own game sheet ranks first; the page below it credits Bally — the rights holder’s own 2011 announcement names Aristocrat.

This is an independent SlotsGamblers review written for US players. Every figure below is checked against a primary source — the provider’s specification, the operator’s own game page and the state register — not operator marketing, and each published return carries the name of whoever published it.

What this review does instead: separate the five builds, print each return with the name of whoever published it, and line up three jungle slots a US account can load at 96.51%, 96.31% and 95.9%.

Tarzan in 30 seconds

A long read Sources read 9 August 2026 Our score 6.3/10
  • Five different slots answer to this name. An online build from Microgaming, now Games Global; two Aristocrat cabinets; a Ready Play Gaming title; and Wild Tarzan from CQ9 Gaming. Tell them apart.

  • This one is not in a state-licensed US lobby. Two passes on 9 August 2026 — one across five licensed operators, one independent — returned no Tarzan page. What we checked.

  • Here is what a US account can load. Jungle Jim El Dorado 96.31% at BetMGM — same studio — plus Gorilla Go Wild 96.51% and Raging Rhino 95.9%, each the operator’s own. The three.

  • The Bonus Wheel is the draw. Three or more scatters spin a wheel paying 200×, 400× or 1,000× your stake, a multiplier, or 12 free spins — won on the reels, so no wagering attaches. How it triggers.

  • No studio publishes the return. The most-cited field figure, 96.48%, comes from review databases, not Games Global; the gap to 96.00% is US$0.48 per US$100 wagered. The math.

04 Verdict

A generous wheel game no US lobby carries

The math reads well for a medium-volatility slot; the reach does not. Two passes across five state-licensed operator domains on 9 August 2026 found no Tarzan page.

Editor's verdict

A licensed-IP slot built the way 2016 built them: four rows, forty fixed lines, one wheel that decides the session. No US account has a licensed route to it. Three jungle slots do.

Beyond the score What the numbers miss

A five-by-four canopy

The one published description of the build has Tarzan, Jane, Archimedes the chimp, a leopard and a parrot as 3D character models rather than flat art, with the fruit icons carrying the low pays.

Cued to the wheel, not wallpaper

The same published description has ambient forest noise under the base game, tribal drums and orchestral flourishes that intensify during the bonus rounds, and occasional voice snippets from Tarzan and Jane over the action.

A license that drives a mechanic

Most branded slots stop at the artwork. Here the license reaches the math: the logo is the wild and the top line symbol.

One trigger, then four ways to pay

The session turns on how often three or more Bonus Wheel scatters land. One trigger pays four ways, so the volatility reads medium.

Documented — except by its studio

We score it 6.3. The game sits above average for its era. Two of the five dimensions measure the route, not the machine.

05 Free demo

Play Tarzan free, and know which Tarzan you are playing

The frame below runs in your browser on play credits — no account, no download, no app. It is the Ready Play Gaming build, and the badge is on the frame for a reason: it is not the Microgaming game this page documents.

Free play Games Global
21+ · Demo play only · T&Cs apply ¹ Games Global · 25 paylines · play credits

Why this game and not the one in the headline: the frame runs Jungle Jim El Dorado — built by the same studio that owns the online Tarzan catalogue, and the jungle title a US account can actually load for real money, at BetMGM and FanDuel. Every demo filed under the name Tarzan was opened on 10 August 2026 and none of them ran, so none of them is here. Loading one Tarzan and calling it another is precisely the mistake this page exists to stop.

Play credits are the only thing the frame changes: nothing in it can be cashed out, and nothing in it moves what a real-money build would pay. Free play is for learning a trigger before it costs anything. And the Microgaming build is absent from US lobbies for a mechanical reason — New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement runs the slot laboratory that has to approve a game before an operator can list it.

Searching play tarzan slot machine online free turns up demo pages that quietly load a different studio’s game, clips of a casino-floor cabinet, and shopping listings. There is no tarzan slot download and no app to install: this build is HTML5 and runs in the browser tab you already have open. When real money is the plan, start with state-licensed US online casinos.

Two state-licensed operators publish a casino welcome offer on their own site. Both are quoted from that page, not from a bonus-listing site — read 10 August 2026. Note that the two are not the same shape: one matches a deposit, the other refunds a loss.

Four published returns, one blank field

Nothing here is a measurement. It is arithmetic on figures other people print, each one attributed — and why the studio’s number is missing.

Arithmetic by Claire Wilson Read 9 August 2026

Why the quoted return has no studio

1 · The catalogue changed hands

Microgaming built this slot; Games Global took over the online catalogue in May 2022, and Microgaming became Apricot, selling platform systems rather than games. There is no per-title sheet for Tarzan.

2 · Where a figure is guaranteed

A state-licensed lobby prints the return on its own game page: BetMGM publishes 96.31% for Jungle Jim El Dorado, same studio. No licensed lobby carries the online Tarzan.

The edge in dollars

Turning a return into a cost takes one line of arithmetic. On 96.48% — the most-cited field figure across review databases, not a studio number — the edge is 3.52%, so $100 of turnover carries an expected cost of $3.52. The lowest figure in circulation, 96.00%, puts that at $4.00: a gap of 0.48 percentage points, or $0.48 per $100 staked. VegasSlotsOnline prints the return as 0% in its own table, which is how that site says it holds none; penny-slot-machines.com credits Bally, and states Bally has not publicly confirmed a specific RTP figure. The low end is 50-spins.com, whose specification table prints 96.00% while its own prose says 96% and its own video title says 96.48%. And allgamblingsites.com manages three returns on one page: 96% in its stats block, 96.45% in its RTP section, 96.48% in its pros. Read 10 August 2026.

For scale, blackjack to basic strategy carries a house edge commonly cited near 0.5% — about $0.50 per $100 against $3.52 here. Volatility is recorded as medium wherever it is published. Hit frequency is quoted at 29.82% by a single page in the field: one record, not a settled figure.

There is no progressive on the online build. The wheel’s top prize is a fixed 1,000× your stake — $400 at the $0.40 minimum, $40,000 at the $40 maximum. A deposit bonus rewrites the arithmetic again: $50 doubled by a 100% match at 35× on deposit plus bonus is $100 × 35 = $3,500 of turnover, or 8,750 spins at 40¢. Set a deposit limit first, then compare current US casino offers.

07 Game inside

One trigger, four completely different rounds

Three or more Bonus Wheel scatters take you off the reels and onto a wheel. Where it stops decides the round.

Bonus features

Three scatters, four rounds

Three or more Bonus Wheel scatters open the wheel. The jackpot leg pays 200×, 400× and 1,000× at three, four and five scatters; the multiplier leg runs 3–6× to 9–12×; the free-spins leg gives 12 spins with Rolling Reels and Growing Wilds to 15 — won on the reels, not a bonus offer, so no wagering requirement attaches.

Reels & betting

Forty fixed lines

Five reels, four rows, 40 fixed paylines left to right. The only lever is coin value — ten coins a line at $0.01 to $0.10, so a spin costs $0.40 to $40.

Online vs cabinet

Same name, different machine

The rights holder, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., announced the floor machine: on 10 February 2011 Aristocrat’s Tarzan Lord of the Jungle was certified for all GLI jurisdictions in the VERVEhd cabinet, with five high-hit-frequency bonus features and a four-level progressive topping out at $250,000. The online build has one wheel, a fixed 1,000× ceiling and no progressive.

Session math

What $20 buys

At the $0.40 minimum, $20 buys 50 spins — 20 ÷ 0.40 = 50 — and on the most-cited 96.48% that turnover costs an expected $0.70. Five passes through the same $20 is $100 staked, expected $3.52.

Mobile vs desktop

HTML5, no download

An HTML5 instant-play build, browser-only on phones and tablets, with nothing to install. It is the same build either way: the same twenty symbol positions, the same 40 fixed lines and the same math as on desktop.

Visuals & sound

Noise and meaning

The wheel is the one place the round genuinely changes. A Rolling Reels cascade reads as several wins but resolves as one game cycle. The published description of the build says the same thing about the audio: flourishes that intensify for the bonus rounds, and a rhythm the Bonus Wheel keeps to itself.

08 Symbols & paytable

Two ceilings, not one number

The maximum game-round win is the Bonus Wheel’s jackpot leg at 1,000× your stake — every source that publishes a cap states it as a multiple of the stake. The maximum line award is the wild’s five of a kind, printed as 800 in coins. Different events, reached by different routes.

The monkey is not a special symbol: it sits in the animal tier at 10, 80 and 200, level with the parrot and the leopard. Volatility lives in the wild, which climbs 90 to 240 to 800, while the fruit tier pays a flat 4 for three of a kind. For the awards on the build in front of you, open its own information panel.

09 Which Tarzan

Bally or Aristocrat: the conflict, printed

What the rights holder published

Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. published the Las Vegas announcement itself, 10 February 2011: “Aristocrat’s newest video slot game, Tarzan® Lord of the Jungle™, has just received certification for all GLI jurisdictions … in Aristocrat’s award-winning VERVEhd™ cabinet … five high-hit frequency bonus features and a four-level progressive with a jungle-sized top jackpot of $250,000.”

edgarriceburroughs.com/tarzan-in-vegas/, read 9 August 2026.

What the number-two result still says

The page ranking second credits Bally, adding that “Bally has not publicly confirmed a specific RTP figure for Tarzan slots.” Aristocrat’s own US sheet ranks first on the same search. This page names Aristocrat and leaves the other claim visible.

Finding the cabinet in Las Vegas

Placement rotates: a venue list published today is stale next month. Two checks hold: the FIND WHERE TO PLAY search on Aristocrat’s own US Tarzan page, and the property’s slot-finder or player-services desk.

If it was the online build you came for, where to play has the honest answer: a US account can load another Games Global jungle slot, not Tarzan.

10 How to play

Four steps, in US$ and 21+

All 40 lines are fixed, so the coin value is the whole decision. Steps two and four apply to whatever you load: this build sits in no US state-licensed lobby.

1 · Set the coin value, not the line count

The studio build runs $0.40 to $40.00 a spin: ten coins per payline at a coin value of $0.01 to $0.10. At the minimum, $100 buys 250 spins of turnover (100 ÷ 0.40). No autoplay, no feature buy.

2 · Read the information panel before you spin

Open the menu or the i icon and find the return line. No studio sheet publishes one: the most-cited field figure, 96.48%, comes from review databases, not the studio, and one comparison table prints 0% because it holds none. The panel shows what your operator runs.

3 · Track the trigger: three Bonus Wheel scatters

Three or more scatters open the wheel, and the count sets what is on it: a 200× jackpot leg at three, 400× at four, 1,000× at five. The free-spins leg is a flat 12 spins — won on the reels, not a bonus offer, so no wagering attaches.

4 · Set the loss and session limits first

Deposit limits, loss limits, time-outs and reality checks live in the operator’s own account tools, and take a minute to set. Every licensed lobby links its state’s self-exclusion program from the account menu; terms differ by state, so read yours before you enroll.

What is actually in your hands

Outcomes come from a random number generator; no stake pattern or session length changes the return. Three things you control. Stake against bankroll: at the 96.48% field figure the edge is 3.52%, so $100 of turnover costs an expected $3.52 — at 96.00% it is $4.00. Session limits, set before you start. And whether a bonus lets this game contribute at all: the weighting list is on the operator’s terms page, and every state-licensed US online casino publishes one.

11 Bonus terms

A bonus is worth what its terms allow, not what its headline says

Headline numbers move weekly. The three terms that decide what an offer is actually worth do not.

Three lines in the operator’s own terms decide it. The wagering multiple, and what it applies to — bonus only, or deposit plus bonus, which roughly doubles the work. Game weighting, because a title that contributes nothing clears nothing. And the maximum cashout, the ceiling on what a bonus balance can become.

The worked example, with your money

Multiple applies to Deposit + bonus
Turnover required US$3,500 at 35×
Spins at US$0.40 8,750 spins
Bonus received US$50 match

Deposit US$50, take a 100% match, and read the base of the multiple before its size. At 35× on deposit plus bonus the base is US$100, so the requirement is US$100 × 35 = US$3,500 of turnover — at a US$0.40 spin, 8,750 spins (3,500 ÷ 0.40) before the balance is yours. Written on bonus only, the same headline asks half as much.

Game weighting is the step most people skip. Slots usually count in full, table games far less, and individual licensed-IP titles are sometimes weighted down or excluded outright. Open the operator’s game-contribution list and search the title before you opt in.

The maximum cashout is the last line and the quietest: a cap turns a good run into a fixed number, whatever the reels did. Terms move, so we re-read them on a schedule, and an offer page states the date it was last checked — if it does not, treat the headline as undated.

Next step Compare current US casino offers Wagering base, weighting and cap, per operator.
12 Where to play

State-licensed operators with similar jungle-adventure slots

The closest thing a US account can load is another Games Global jungle slot.

What we checked. A domain-scoped pass over casino.betmgm.com, casino.draftkings.com, casino.fanduel.com, casino.betrivers.com and goldennuggetcasino.com on 9 August 2026 returned four results, none of them a Tarzan game page. A second, independent pass found no operator or regulator source placing the game in a state-licensed lobby.

What that does and does not mean

A game reaches a US lobby only after the state’s own approval route — in New Jersey, the Division of Gaming Enforcement’s slot laboratory tests and approves every title before it goes live. So what the pass found is a catalog absence, not a legal bar.

Three lobbies, read on the regulator’s own register

Licenses read on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) and Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) registers, game figures on each operator’s own page. 9 August 2026.

Each row earns its place differently. BetMGM and FanDuel both publish their own Jungle Jim El Dorado page — the closest a US account gets to the online Tarzan, because it is the same studio. BetRivers earns its row on the register: the MGCB’s authorized platform-provider list ties it to the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, as it ties BetMGM to MGM Grand Detroit. A geo-selector is not a source; the register is.

The safe-casino checklist

Six checks, each one a click. One: confirm the brand on the state’s own list — the PGCB publishes an Interactive Gaming Operators page for exactly this. Two: find the self-exclusion route in the account menu; every licensed lobby links its own state’s program, and the terms differ by state. Three: confirm cashouts settle in US$. Four: confirm the wagering terms sit on the promo page itself. Five: find the published withdrawal window. Six: set a deposit, loss or session limit — if it does not save, that is your answer.

13 What the published record says

Four readings, and no composite community score

Read on 9 August 2026. Five games answer to the name Tarzan, so a pooled rating would be pooling five games. What the record actually holds instead: one signed editorial review of this build, and what the live US search returns — each card naming its source and the date we read it.

Why there is no number here
no aggregate worth publishing

A composite community score needs one game and one rated pool. This name has neither: two Aristocrat cabinets, two online builds and CQ9’s Wild Tarzan all collect comment under a single word. Our own score is argued in the verdict.

15 How we review slots

Our seven steps, and what we check at each

We open and fund an account at every casino we list, and review every game against the math its publishers print. Written by Claire Wilson, 9 August 2026; compliance Andrew Murray; sign-off David Clarke.

The seven steps

  • 1 · The published math. What we check: every return figure in circulation, who printed it, volatility, the paytable basis.
  • 2 · The operator’s game page. What we check: the RTP, paylines, max wager and max win a licensed lobby prints, in US$.
  • 3 · Reachability here. What we check: whether a state-licensed lobby carries the title, and what is reachable if not.
  • 4 · Sign-up and deposit. What we check: we open the account and fund it ourselves through a real US rail, never comped.
  • 5 · The bonus terms. What we check: the wagering multiple and what it applies to, game weighting, max bet while wagering, cashout cap, expiry.
  • 6 · Withdrawal and support. What we check: we request a withdrawal, complete identity verification, and put a hard question to support.
  • 7 · The state register. What we check: the operator on its regulator’s list — the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the Michigan Gaming Control Board, the West Virginia Lottery, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, the Delaware Lottery, the Rhode Island Lottery — the state self-exclusion program, and a scheduled re-read.

What costs a game points

A return figure no studio stands behind. A paytable whose basis nobody states — which is why the paytable keeps its publisher’s notation. A studio credit that contradicts the rights holder, or a lobby claim the operator’s own page does not support.

16 The jungle shortlist

Three jungle slots a US account can actually load

Jungle Jim El Dorado leads — same studio as the online Tarzan. Operator figures, read 9 August 2026.

Why these three

Two conditions, not taste. A state-licensed operator has to publish its own game page for the title, and the setting has to sit in the same jungle-adventure family. That puts Games Global on top: the studio that owns the online Tarzan catalog also owns Jungle Jim.

How to read them

Jungle Jim El Dorado is the closest match. BetMGM publishes 96.31%, medium volatility, 25 paylines across five reels, a US$25 maximum wager and a 3,680× maximum win, and describes a multiplier trail climbing to 15× inside the free spins. FanDuel prints the same game at US$0.25 – US$125.

Raging Rhino is the wide-grid alternative: 4,096 paylines over six reels, BetMGM’s published 95.9%, a US$60 maximum wager and a 1,000× maximum win. Its free spins scale in steps — three scatters award eight spins at 2× bet, four award fifteen at 10×, five award twenty at 50×, six award 50 spins and the ceiling.

Gorilla Go Wild holds the highest published return here at 96.51%, again medium volatility, with 25 paylines, a 2,500× maximum win and the widest stake ceiling of the three at US$150. It is a NextGen Gaming title rather than a Games Global one: the theme matches, the math department does not.

Three cards, because three is what a state-licensed operator publishes a page for. BetMGM keeps its own jungle round-up, the list to watch when the lobby changes.

17 Player Q&A

The four questions this game keeps raising

Drawn from the pages that rank for this title and the live related searches, each answered with a date and a next step you can run yourself.

Ask the editor No comment thread here. For “which lobby carries which game”, the durable answer is the operator’s own game library, searched by title and by studio — the licensed US lobbies are in Where to play.
Q

Can I play the online Tarzan slot for real money in the US right now?

A
Claire Wilson Availability

Not in a state-licensed lobby, checked 9 August 2026. A domain-scoped pass over five licensed US casino domains returned no Tarzan page, and an independent pass found no operator or regulator source placing it in one. The free demo is a separate frame, and a different studio’s build. The alternatives are in Where to play.

Q

Is the online Tarzan the same game as the Aristocrat machine?

A
Claire Wilson Provenance

No. The online build is a 5×4, 40-payline Microgaming title whose catalogue Games Global has owned since May 2022, with a fixed jackpot. Aristocrat’s Tarzan Lord of the Jungle is a penny cabinet: 50 paylines, four progressive levels, top local jackpot $250,000 at max bet. Aristocrat runs its own find-where-to-play tool.

Q

Does the game pay differently at different casinos?

A
Claire Wilson Math

The math belongs to the game, not the lobby. What moves is what each operator’s own page publishes — BetMGM prints 96.31% for Jungle Jim El Dorado and 95.9% for Raging Rhino. Tarzan has no studio figure; the most-cited field figure, 96.48%, comes from review databases. Read the operator’s game page before you stake.

Q

Do I need an app or a download?

A
Claire Wilson Access

No. The online build is HTML5 and runs in a phone browser; mobile play is listed with no app and no download. Searches for a Tarzan slot download mostly surface cabinet emulators and social apps — neither this game nor the floor machine. Close any page that asks you to install an executable.

The US rule set

  • 21+. Seven states run a live real-money online casino market, each with its own regulator — New Jersey’s DGE, Pennsylvania’s PGCB. Maine legalized it eighth in January 2026, no live operator as of 9 August 2026 ¹.
  • No real-money Tarzan build appears in a state-licensed US lobby as of 9 August 2026, checked two ways, both empty ². Every game clears state-regulator testing before a lobby lists it. The alternatives are in Where to play.
  • Sweepstakes sit under a different body of law, restricted or banned in a growing list of states ³. A state can license real-money online casino and still restrict the sweepstakes model — two bodies of law about two products, not a contradiction.
¹ Licensing status from each state regulator’s own register, 9 August 2026; Maine from LD 1164 and the Maine Gambling Control Unit · ² A domain-scoped pass over five state-licensed casino domains plus an independent research pass, both 9 August 2026 · ³ Sweepstakes rules vary by state; check your own.
18 Frequently asked questions

What US players ask about this game

Every question below appears on a page ranking for this game, or in the live related searches, read 9 August 2026.

01

What is the RTP of Tarzan slots?

As of 9 August 2026 no studio figure exists. The most-cited field figure, 96.48%, comes from review databases; 96.45%, a flat 96% and 96.00% also circulate, and one review page prints three of them itself. At 96.48% the edge is 3.52% — $3.52 per $100 staked. Read the information panel.

02

Can Tarzan slots be played for real money?

Two frames. Yes on a US casino floor, where Aristocrat’s cabinets run; no in a state-licensed online lobby, where no Tarzan build appeared on 9 August 2026. What a US account can load is in Where to play.

03

Who made Tarzan slots and when was it released?

The online game is Microgaming’s, released 1 December 2016 per a provider directory that also names Games Global as the catalogue’s owner since May 2022. The Las Vegas cabinets are Aristocrat’s, announced by the rights holder in February 2011.

04

What bonus features does Tarzan slots have?

On the online build the logo is the wild, and the Bonus Wheel opens 12 free spins with Rolling Reels and Growing Wilds up to 15. Those spins are won on the reels, so no wagering attaches. Cabinet features differ — see Versions.

05

What is the wheel bonus in Tarzan slots?

Three or more Bonus Wheel scatters open it. Four legs: a jackpot paying 200×, 400× or 1,000× your stake at three, four or five scatters; a multiplier leg; 12 free spins; and Pick-a-Potamus. At a $0.40 spin, 1,000× is $400.

06

Can Tarzan slots be played on mobile?

Yes. The online build is HTML5 instant play, listed for mobile with no app and no download, so paytable and math match desktop. A steady connection matters more than the handset — check yours first.

07

Can I play Tarzan for free?

Not this build, and not under this name. Every demo filed as Tarzan was opened on 10 August 2026 and none of them ran. The frame on this page plays Jungle Jim El Dorado instead — same studio, 96.31% on BetMGM’s own page, and reachable for real money in a licensed US lobby. Open it at the demo.

08

Is a Tarzan slot download or app needed?

No, and the search term is misleading. A licensed slot loads in the browser; what “Tarzan slot download” actually surfaces is cabinet emulators and social apps — neither the online game nor the floor machine. Never install a file to spin.
