Tarzan Slot Review: RTP, Jungle Bonus and Where UK Players Can Spin It

Type Tarzan slot into Google from Britain and five different games come back under one name.

An independent, hands-on Tarzan slot review for UK players: every figure checked against the provider’s specification, the operator’s terms and the licence register.

This review separates the five builds, prints every return with its publisher, and scores three jungle slots a British account can load.

Tarzan in 30 seconds

A long read Sources read 9 August 2026 Our score 6.5/10
  • Five slots, one name. A Microgaming online build, now under Games Global; two Aristocrat cabinets; a Ready Play Gaming title; and Wild Tarzan from CQ9 Gaming. Tell them apart.

  • The top-ranking page names the wrong studio. It credits Bally. The rights holder, Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc., published the Las Vegas announcement in February 2011, naming Aristocrat. The receipt.

  • The Bonus Wheel is the draw. Three or more scatters spin it: a jackpot of 200×, 400× or 1,000× stake, a multiplier, 12 free spins with Rolling Reels, or Pick-a-Potamus. How it triggers.

  • The studio is licensed here; the title is not. Games Global holds GB account 58841, yet none of the nine UKGC-licensed lobbies we searched carries a Tarzan build. What we checked.

  • Three jungle slots you can load tonight. Gorilla Gold Megaways 97.00%, Raging Rhino 95.91% on MrQ’s page, The Wild Life Extreme 94% in Grosvenor’s game rules. The match score.

04 Verdict

A generous wheel game Britain cannot currently load

Good maths, no reach. None of nine UKGC-licensed lobbies carries it, and no studio sheet prints the return.

Editor's verdict
One wheel decides the session: four legs, cascades, a growing wild stack. No British route, and no studio-published return. Three jungle slots that offer both.

Tarzan is for you if

  • You want a medium-volatility session — the wheel pays four ways
  • You like a fixed 40-line game: coin value is the only decision
  • You read the Return to Player line in the information panel first

Tarzan is not for you if

  • You want it tonight: none of nine UKGC-licensed lobbies returned a Tarzan game page
  • You want a studio sheet: the 96.48% everyone quotes is an affiliate record
  • You chase five-figure multipliers: the round cap is 1,000× stake, modest beside Britain’s jungle Megaways

Beyond the score What the numbers can't tell you

Full 3D characters on a five-by-four canopy

The cast are 3D models with cut-ins. The 5×4 grid crops tighter, so fruit low-pays blur first on a phone.

The yell is the win cue, not the wallpaper

Ambient forest under the base game, percussion when the wheel is in play. A UKGC build cannot celebrate a return at or below your stake.

A licence that drives a mechanic

The licence reaches the maths, not just the artwork: the Tarzan logo is wild and top symbol, Pick-a-Potamus a bonus leg.

Quiet base game, then the wheel decides

Base spins tick along on 40 fixed lines; the session turns on how often scatters land. One trigger, four outcomes: jackpot, multiplier, free spins, hippos.

Well made, well documented — by everyone except its studio

We score it 6.5: above average for its era, with a Bonus Wheel better than most of what replaced it. Two of our five dimensions measure British reach; both stop short.

06 RTP and what £100 buys

Five sources, five returns — and here is the arithmetic on each

Arithmetic on figures other people print, each attributed — and why no studio sheet exists.

Arithmetic by Claire Wilson Sources read 9 August 2026

Why the return everyone quotes has no studio behind it

1 · The catalogue changed hands, and the game sheet did not follow

Microgaming built this slot; Games Global bought the online portfolio in May 2022, and Microgaming became Apricot. The portfolio is presented at company level — no per-title sheet.

2 · The field prints a number anyway, and not the same one

96.48% is the figure most pages carry; others print 96.45%, 96.4% or a flat 96.00%. One large database shows 0% — its way of recording “not held”.

3 · The one place a figure is guaranteed

In Great Britain the return must be reachable inside the game: open the menu or the i icon and read the Return to Player line for your lobby’s build.

Turnover is not the same as your deposit £100 at the £0.40 minimum buys 250 spins — at least 10 minutes 25 seconds under the 2.5-second floor; at the £5 cap, 20 spins and 50 seconds. The cap limits stake, not speed.
Average feature win: nobody publishes one Not the studio, not the lobbies, not the databases read on 9 August 2026. What is published is the wheel’s own scale — 200×, 400×, 1,000× stake and 12 free spins.

The edge in pounds

On the 96.48% cited for Tarzan the edge is 3.52%: £100 of turnover costs an expected £3.52. Per spin: 1.41p at 40p, 7.04p at the £2 cap, 17.60p at the £5 cap.

Blackjack to basic strategy carries a house edge commonly put near 0.5% — about £0.50 per £100 against £3.52 here.

Volatility reads medium wherever it is published; hit frequency is quoted at 29.82% by one page only, a single record. A hit is not a profit: many are line wins worth less than the stake. No progressive — the wheel tops out at a fixed 1,000× stake.

07 Game inside

One trigger, four completely different rounds

Three or more scatters open a wheel deciding between a jackpot, a multiplier, twelve free spins and a room full of hippos.

Bonus features

Land three scatters, then find out what you won

The jackpot leg pays 200× stake at three scatters, 400× at four, 1,000× at five; the multiplier leg runs 3–6×, 6–12×, 9–12× on the same scale. The free-spins leg gives 12 spins with Rolling Reels and a Growing Wilds stack, one wild per cascade to 15. Pick-a-Potamus: twelve hippos, picked until the ‘pop’.

Gameplay & pacing

British rules put a floor under the clock

All 40 lines are fixed, so coin value is the only control. A UKGC lobby must leave 2.5 seconds between game cycles (RTS 14D); the 2019 licence conditions removed autoplay and speed-up and stopped below-stake returns counting as wins. Play caps at roughly 24 spins a minute.

This build vs the cabinet

Different studio, different machine entirely

They share a licence and nothing else. Aristocrat’s Tarzan Lord of the Jungle is a VERVEhd cabinet, 31.5-inch portrait, GLI-certified February 2011, with a four-level progressive topping out at $250,000 and five bonuses: Tarzan, Stampede, Monkey, Kerchak Free Games at 2×, 3×, 5× or 10×, Progressive Wheel. None exists online.

Session maths

What a £20 session actually looks like

At the £0.40 minimum a £20 balance buys 50 spins — at least 2 minutes 5 seconds under the 2.5-second floor — at an expected 70p on the cited 96.48%.

Mobile vs desktop

An HTML5 build on a four-row grid

An HTML5 build that adapts to phones and tablets without a download. The grid is the compromise: five reels by four rows is twenty symbol positions on a portrait screen, so fruit low-pays lose detail first.

Visuals & sound in play

Where the noise matches the money

The cues match value better than the era’s average: cut-ins for larger character wins, percussion when the wheel changes the round. A Rolling Reels cascade sounds like several wins but is one game cycle — and cannot resolve in under 2.5 seconds.

08 Symbols & paytable

The full symbol table, and the one thing it does not tell you

One page in the field publishes a per-symbol table for this game. We reproduce it unedited, then flag the open question.

Sources read 9 August 2026 Reproduced, never rebased
What the multiplier is multiplying Not stated — and two sources imply different bases The publisher prints bare multipliers and never names the base. A second page has the wild paying 20× your wager; a third the top symbol at 500 coins on maximum bet. Three units, so we print as published.

Two max wins, and they are not the same number

Two ceilings, routinely mixed up. The maximum game-round win is the Bonus Wheel’s top jackpot leg at 1,000× your stake. The maximum line win is the wild’s five-of-a-kind award, 800×.

Nothing there says whether that 800× multiplies your total stake or your line bet. So we keep the publisher’s own notation and print no pound column.

The volatility lives in the wild: 90×, 240×, 800× — the symbol that stacks in the base game and grows fifteen deep in the free spins. The fruit tier does the survival work, flat at 4×.

Open the information panel in the lobby you are playing in: that paytable is the build’s own, and it settles base and awards.

The attribution the top result gets wrong

What the number-one page says

The page ranking first in Britain states that Tarzan slots was “developed by Bally Technologies (now part of Scientific Games/Light & Wonder) under license from the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate”.

What the rights holder published itself

Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. published the Las Vegas announcement of 10 February 2011: “Aristocrat’s newest video slot game, Tarzan® Lord of the Jungle™, has just received certification for all GLI jurisdictions.” Aristocrat publishes the same specification today.

Why we print the conflict

The newsroom names Aristocrat, and Aristocrat lists both cabinets — so the attribution here is Aristocrat. The Bally claim is named, not overwritten.

Aristocrat game pages and the Edgar Rice Burroughs announcement of 10 February 2011, read 9 August 2026.

How to tell them apart in ten seconds

1 · Read the studio badge in the game footer

Every demo frame and lobby tile names its provider: 96.48% for a Games Global build says nothing about a Ready Play Gaming one.

2 · Count the rows, then look for a wheel

The Games Global game is a 5×4 grid on 40 fixed lines with a wheel bonus. A progressive meter on top means Aristocrat; no wheel, one of the other three.

3 · Shopping for the cabinet is a different market

British searches for tarzan slot machine for sale land on fruit-machine dealers and auction listings, not this game. The demo is above.

10 How to play

Six steps, in £ and under British rules

All 40 lines are fixed, so coin value is the whole decision — British licence conditions made the others for you.

1 · Set your stake in £

The studio build runs 0.40 to 40.00 a spin; a British lobby stops lower: £5 per game cycle from age 25, £2 for ages 18 to 24. Pick a coin value and stay there.

2 · Read the information panel before anything else

Open the menu or the i icon. The Return to Player line, wheel rules and symbol awards for your build live there — no studio sheet publishes the return.

3 · Spin, and expect the clock to hold you back

Every UKGC-licensed lobby must leave 2.5 seconds between game cycles — the rule, not a loading delay. A Rolling Reels sequence is one cycle.

4 · Track the trigger: three Bonus Wheel scatters

Three or more scatters open the wheel, and the count sets its prizes: three puts a 200× jackpot leg in play, four 400×, five 1,000×. The free-spins leg is a flat 12 spins.

5 · Set your limits at registration, not later

Deposit limits, loss limits, reality checks and time-outs are built into a British account; set them while calm. Gamstop covers self-exclusion across every UKGC-licensed operator.

6 · Cash out through the rail you deposited with

British accounts run in £ and settle back to the deposit source — debit cards, Apple Pay, pay-by-bank. Credit cards cannot be used for gambling in Great Britain, including e-wallets loaded from one.

What British rules change on the reels

Five differences, all from Gambling Commission licence conditions rather than the studio: no autoplay; no turbo or quick-spin; no illusion of control; no return at or below your stake celebrated as a win; reality checks on a set interval. The 2019 conditions brought the first four.

SI 2025/215 attached the condition to every remote casino licence: £5 for all adults from 9 April 2025, £2 for ages 18 to 24 from 21 May 2025. Online slots only, measured per game cycle — from initiating a game until all money staked is lost or all winnings are delivered.

Two things we do not state: whether a British lobby offers a feature buy, and what an operator’s game-contribution list says. Both are per-operator — check the information panel and game rules.

11 Bonuses worth using

A bonus is worth what its terms allow, not what its headline says

Headlines change weekly and by operator. The five terms that decide what an offer is worth do not.

Read five things in the operator’s terms before you claim: the wagering multiple and its base — bonus only, or deposit plus bonus, which roughly doubles the work; game weighting; maximum bet while wagering; maximum cashout; expiry.

The worked example, with your money

What the multiple applies to Bonus only, at Mega Casino
Turnover required £250 on a £25 deposit
Expected cost of that turnover £8.80 at 96.48%
Bonus received £25 — ahead of the cost

Mega Casino prints this. Deposit £25, take the 100% match, and wagering is 10× the bonus — not deposit plus bonus — so you turn over £250, slots only. At 96.48% that costs an expected £8.80 against a £25 bonus, with a £5 max bet while you wager.

Change one word and it inverts. A 35× on deposit plus bonus offer on a £20 deposit means £40 × 35 = £1,400 of turnover at an expected £49.28 for a £20 bonus. The base of the multiple matters more than its size.

Game weighting is the step most people skip. Slots usually count 100%, table games far less, and licensed-IP or higher-volatility titles are sometimes weighted down or excluded. Search the operator’s game contribution list before you opt in.

Two things specific to Britain. Advertised bonuses must show their significant terms where you decide, so the wagering line is visible before you click. And credit cards cannot be used for gambling here — licence condition 6.1.2 since 14 April 2020. Sweepstakes answer American state law.

No bonus code appears here: none of the four operators above required one.

Next step Compare what UK sites are actually offering this week Licence number, terms and check date per operator.
12 Where to play

UKGC-licensed operators with similar jungle-mechanic slots

We looked for Tarzan in nine British lobbies. This is what came back.

What we checked, and what came back. Domain-scoped British searches across nine UKGC-licensed lobbies — Grosvenor, Casumo, Mega Casino, MrQ, Sky Vegas, Virgin Games, LeoVegas, PokerStars UK and 888casino — on 9 August 2026. Not one returned a Tarzan game page. What they did return were the three jungle slots in the clone-map below.

What that does and does not mean

Not a legal question. Games Global Operations Limited, which owns this catalogue, holds Gambling Commission account 58841 and states so in its own footer. Its games are in British lobbies; this one is not.

Nor is it proof of a negative: a title can sit behind a login that never gets crawled. It is the check a player can run.

Every account number came from the register, not a footer: MrQ trades under Tek Fox Ltd, active since 29 September 2023; Grosvenor under Rank Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited, since 11 March 2022; Mega Casino under Skill On Net Limited, since 1 November 2014.

Casumo shows why. Its old licence — Casumo Services Limited, account 39265 — reads surrendered on 3 November 2023. Not a warning about the brand: the register also shows Recro Limited, account 61549, holding an active remote casino licence from 21 December 2023 at the same Malta address.

The British safe-site checklist

Five checks, each a click. One: the footer’s licence account number on the Commission’s register — Casino, Remote, status Active. Two: Gamstop. Three: the account in £ GBP. Four: your deposit rail — debit card, Apple Pay, pay-by-bank; credit cards are not an option here. Five: the wagering line before you opt in.

Wanted this game rather than the theme? A British account cannot reach it; the demo above is the closest route. For the jungle, the clone-map is three away.

15 How we review slots

Our eight-step process, and what we check at each

We test every casino we list and review every game against the maths its studio publishes. Claire Wilson wrote this review on 9 August 2026.

The eight steps

  • 1 · The studio’s published maths. What we check: every RTP configuration shipped, volatility, hit frequency, both max-win definitions, the full paytable — and what is missing.
  • 2 · The live operator build. What we check: which configuration the lobby deploys, what its game page prints, and the stake range in £ against the caps.
  • 3 · Reachability in Britain. What we check: whether any UKGC-licensed lobby carries the title, and which near-identical games are reachable if not.
  • 4 · Sign-up and deposit. What we check: we open each account ourselves and deposit through a real British rail, never a comped account.
  • 5 · The bonus, played to its terms. What we check: the wagering multiple and what it applies to, game weighting, max bet while wagering, cashout cap and expiry.
  • 6 · Withdrawal and verification. What we check: we request a withdrawal, complete identity verification, and compare what happens with the operator’s stated window.
  • 7 · Support, licence and safer-gambling tools. What we check: we question support on the RTP configuration and bonus terms, check the licence account number on the Commission’s public register, and confirm Gamstop, deposit and loss limits, reality checks.
  • 8 · Re-check cadence. Policy: offer terms and lobby availability are re-verified on a 30-day cycle; a new build triggers a re-read, logged in the revision history.

What costs a page its place in our index

Offer terms we cannot verify at source. A licence we cannot confirm on the register. A lobby claim we cannot reproduce. An attribution that contradicts the rights holder. A number whose base nobody states — which is why the paytable stays in its publisher’s notation, never converted into pounds.

16 The Jungle Clone Match Score

Three jungle slots, scored against the one you came for

Four criteria, five points each — every row verified on a UKGC-licensed operator’s own page.

How the score works

Theme — how close the setting and symbol cast sit to a jungle canopy. Maths — how near the published return sits to the 96.48% cited for Tarzan, less a point where volatility differs. Featuresbonus wheel, cascading reels, wilds that grow or expand. UK availability — verified UKGC lobbies, three or more scoring full.

How to read the table

Gorilla Gold Megaways scores highest: four or more scatters open a bonus wheel choosing between free spins and Super Spins, cascades are built in, and Blueprint’s 97.00% sits above the Tarzan figure. It drops a maths point: LeoVegas lists its volatility as high, where Tarzan reads medium.

Raging Rhino is the row for reach: four UKGC lobbies verified. Its 95.91% sits below the Tarzan figure, and three to six Diamond Scatters award up to 50 free spins across 4,096 ways. It drops feature points: no wheel, no cascade.

The Wild Life Extreme is the feature-chaser’s row: expanding wilds turn sticky in the free spins, the nearest thing to Tarzan’s growing stack, and Grosvenor’s 5p minimum is the lowest floor here. But Grosvenor prints RTP = 94%: £6.00 per £100 staked, double Gorilla Gold’s.

Jungle Jim El Dorado is the obvious near-miss — same catalogue, published return 96.31%, cascading reels, an actual jungle. No row: the only operator pages we could verify were Finnish and Swedish.

Following the animal rather than the jungle? Wild Panda sits in the same big-animal family — our Wild Panda slot review covers it. Many British players meet these games through clip-led channels, the lady luck slots corner of YouTube among them: good for previewing a bonus, not for judging frequency.

A match-scored shortlist, not a top-ten: three rows is what we could verify.

Q

Is the Tarzan slot available for real money at UKGC-licensed casinos, or only on casino floors?

A
Claire Wilson Availability

On 9 August 2026 we could not find it in a British lobby: searches across nine UKGC-licensed operators returned no Tarzan game page. The catalogue’s owner, Games Global, holds GB account 58841 — a catalogue absence, not a restriction. Check the operator’s own library, by title and studio.

Q

Does the Tarzan slot count fully toward UK bonus wagering?

A
Claire Wilson Bonus terms

Contribution is set per operator, and with no British lobby carrying the title there is no list to read. Licensed-IP and higher-volatility slots are most often weighted down or excluded. Search the contribution list before you opt in.

Q

Who made it, and when was it released?

A
Claire Wilson Provenance

Built by Microgaming, released in December 2016 — one database logs 16 December 2016. The catalogue passed to Games Global in May 2022. The Aristocrat cabinets are a different line: Tarzan Lord of the Jungle was certified for GLI jurisdictions in February 2011.

Q

Are there wilds, cascades or a wheel bonus?

A
Claire Wilson Features

All three. The Tarzan logo is a stacked wild, substituting for all but the Bonus Wheel scatter. Rolling Reels cascades run inside the free spins, the wild stack growing one per cascade up to fifteen. Three or more scatters open the wheel: a jackpot, a multiplier, twelve free spins or Pick-a-Potamus.

Q

Why might the demo not load?

A
Claire Wilson Troubleshooting

In order: reload (demo frames are lazy-loaded), turn off any content blocker (the frames are third-party), try another browser. If it still will not run, the provider most likely does not serve that title in your location.

Q

Can I play it on mobile, and can I change the spin speed?

A
Claire Wilson Rules

Mobile, yes — an HTML5 build that runs in a phone browser without a download. Spin speed, no: a UKGC-licensed lobby has no autoplay and no turbo, because speed-up features were removed by licence condition and 2.5 seconds must pass between game cycles. A turbo button is a reason to check the register.

18 Frequently asked questions

What Britain actually asks about this studio, this maths and these rules

Every question below came from Google’s People Also Ask box in Great Britain on 9 August 2026. Game-specific questions sit in the Q&A above.

01

What is the new name for Microgaming?

The games went to Games Global, which bought Microgaming’s portfolio in May 2022. The original company kept its platform business as Apricot.

02

Is Games Global Microgaming?

No, but it owns the catalogue. Games Global was founded in 2021 and bought the portfolio in 2022; it lists over 1,300 titles and holds Gambling Commission account 58841. Check the public register.

03

What does 96% RTP mean?

The share of stakes a game returns over the long run: a 96% return leaves a 4% edge, or £4 per £100 staked.

04

Why can't I bet more than 2 on slots?

Because you are 18 to 24. Online slot stakes are capped at £2 per game cycle for that band, £5 from age 25, under SI 2025/215. The £5 tier began 9 April 2025, the £2 tier 21 May 2025. Slots only.

05

What are wild symbols in slots?

A wild substitutes for other symbols to complete a line, but not the bonus scatter. The Tarzan logo replaces everything except the Bonus Wheel.

06

How to read a slot pay table?

Find the base first: awards are listed for three, four and five of a kind, but each may multiply your total stake or line bet — very different on 40 lines.

07

Is it possible to buy a slot machine?

Yes — through specialist dealers and auction houses: a collector market, separate from licensed online play. For the game rather than the cabinet, the demo above is free.

08

What does 50x wagering mean?

Stake fifty times an amount before withdrawing. Fifty times a £20 bonus is £1,000 of turnover; fifty times deposit plus bonus is £2,000. Check the terms before opting in.

09

Can you win real money on online slots in the UK?

Yes, at sites holding a UK Gambling Commission remote casino licence. Find the account number in the footer, confirm it reads Active on the public register, and check for Gamstop.
