This is the engine that drives Wild Bounty Showdown. Every winning combination removes the winning symbols in a cascade, and new symbols drop in to fill the gaps — potentially creating consecutive wins from a single spin. Crucially, with each successive cascade the win multiplier doubles: starting at x1, then x2, x4, x8, x16 and so on, all the way up to a ceiling of x1,024 in the base game. A long cascade chain is the only realistic route to a big base-game payout, since each link both pays a win and ramps the multiplier applied to the next. The doubling structure means the back end of a cascade run is worth far more than the front — the difference between a 4-cascade and a 6-cascade sequence is enormous.

Scattered across the central reels, certain symbols appear inside a golden frame. If a golden-framed symbol takes part in a winning combination, it does not simply disappear in the cascade — instead it transforms into a Wild on the very next cascade and locks into position. That wild then substitutes for paying symbols, helping new combinations form and keeping the cascade chain alive. Because the wilds are generated mid-cascade, they interact directly with the doubling multiplier: a wild that extends your chain by one more cascade also doubles your multiplier again. Stacking several golden-to-wild conversions in a single spin is where the most explosive base-game sequences come from.

Landing the required scatters triggers the free spins round, and this is where Wild Bounty Showdown becomes genuinely dangerous in the best way. Instead of starting the cascade multiplier at x1, the bonus round begins each spin’s multiplier at x8 — meaning the doubling sequence runs x8, x16, x32, x64 and upward from a far higher base. The golden-to-wild mechanic remains active throughout. Additional scatters during the round can retrigger more free spins. Importantly, the free spins cannot be purchased in this title — there is no bonus buy — so the round must be earned naturally, which adds to the anticipation but also means longer dry spells for players chasing the feature.

PG Soft leans into a spaghetti-western mood here: a sun-bleached frontier town, wanted posters, six-shooters, and Cass — a bounty hunter who robs other bandits, a cool inversion of the usual outlaw trope. The premium symbols are the gang of outlaws and Cass herself, rendered with PG Soft’s signature crisp 2022-era animation, while lower symbols use stylised playing-card royals dressed in western leather. The unusual diamond-shaped 3-4-5-5-4-3 reel formation visually reinforces the “showdown” framing, widening in the middle where the action concentrates. Sound design — spurs, gunfire, a twangy guitar score — ties the package together into one of PG Soft’s more atmospheric Western entries.
