Holy Diver runs on the Megaclusters mechanic introduced in Donuts: a starting 4×4 grid where wins form when 5 or more identical symbols connect orthogonally. When a cluster wins, the participating symbols split into four smaller versions of themselves, and the grid expands accordingly — up to a full 8×8 (64 positions) at maximum expansion.

Each split also functions as a cascade: new symbols drop into empty positions, any new clusters formed by the split or by new symbol drops pay automatically. Multiple cascades chain together as long as new winning clusters form. By the third or fourth cascade in a hot spin, the grid is densely packed with small symbols, and clusters of 30–60+ matching small symbols become structurally possible. The cascade chain length is the single most important variable in a Holy Diver spin’s outcome.

The Rainbow Multiplier is Holy Diver’s defining mechanical feature, active during the free spins bonus. Each high-paying symbol type has its own multiplier value, which begins at 1x and increases by +1 every time that specific symbol participates in a winning cluster during the bonus.
